My name is Karen and I am a social
worker living with my husband in Minneapolis, MN. I’ve been
running for 8 years and I’ve finished 4 marathons. Running
is my spirituality. I’m hooked on marathons because it’s no
longer about whether or not I will finish; it’s about how
that race will transform me. Each time, I become stronger -
- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
This time, I’d like to give back to the
world as I run 26.2 miles in the great neighborhoods of
Chicago. I am excited to be returning to the place where I
grew up for this special event. I will be raising funds for
Casa de Los Angeles in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato,
Mexico. Casa de los Angeles is an NGO (non-profit,
non-government organization) working with underprivileged
children and families. They keep impoverished children off
the streets and provide education and healthcare for those
in great need. This is a mission I truly believe in, and I
am honored to be a part of it.
I ask you to support me in running
Chicago’s Bank of America Marathon in October 2008 by making
a contribution to Casa de los Angeles in my name. I’ll do
the hard part- run the 26.2 miles. All you need to do is
make a quick donation below.
My goal is to raise $2000. If a
hundred people each make a $20 donation, that goal will be
easily attained. Of course, any amount is greatly
appreciated!
Thanks so much,
